How a calculator earns its place.
Each tool starts with one distinct problem to solve. We define the calculation rule, identify the assumptions and edge cases, build the interactive question, then check representative inputs before release.
Start with a clear user question and avoid duplicating a job another calculator already handles.
Write down the formula, date convention, units and assumptions before polishing the interface.
Test normal cases plus boundaries such as zero values, month ends, leap years, rate limits and invalid inputs.
Show the assumptions, breakdown or formula when they materially help someone verify the result.
Accuracy is a product feature.
A correct formula is only part of a trustworthy calculator. Boundary rules, unit conventions, rounding and presentation can all change how an answer is understood. When a result depends on a convention, the interface should make that convention visible.
